Francesco Parisi S.p.A. is a Shipping and Freight Forwarding Group
of Companies established by Francesco Parisi (1778-1813) in Trieste
and present in Central Europe since 1807
The Group has always followed the general course of Trieste’s emporium,
which, as known, encountered very agitate moments at the beginning of ’800.
As of 1803 the comprehensive of Trieste harbour’s commerce over passed 70
million florins, during the third Napoleonic occupation (from 1809 to 1813)
a drastic decline took place and volumes of commerce went down to just 2
million florins in 1813.
The return of the Austro-Hungaric Empire spread
hopes of development for the port of Trieste, but in the reality,
no commerce enhancements came until 1820.

The waking up of the city came in the third decade of ‘800, when Assicurazioni
Generali, Riunione Adriatica di Sicurtà and Lloyd Austriaco were established.
The phase that set the growth of the Francesco Parisi is the second half of
the ’800: the Vienna Branch was opened (1857) and the company became an
international enterprise to all of the effects.

From 1859 to 1866 Austria lost Lombardy and Veneto Regions, and this pushed the
Group to open a Branch in a politically Italian territory:
the Venice Branch was established (1872).
At those times the war between France and Germany opened new possibilities for the
port of Trieste, due to the paralysis of Hamburg and Brema harbours.
The need to install itself in the German market determined the establishment
of the Munich Branch (1879).

In the meantime the industrial development of Lombardy and the Padanian Plain,
which found their principal port for goods in Genoa, persuaded the Group to open
a new Branch in the Liguria regional capital (1882).
For the same reason two decades later the Milan Branch was opened too (1898).
Throughout the ‘900, besides reaching its 100th Anniversary (1907), going
after commerce trends the Francesco Parisi opened and closed various Branches all
around Eastern and Western Europe.

Particularly flourishing has been the post-Second World War period: the Group took
part in the transportation of raw and finished materials for the reconstruction of Eastern Europe.
At the end of the 40s the Group closed most of its Eastern European Branches,
not having big expectations for such territory anymore. However at the same time
Parisi went overseas, establishing an Associate Branch in New York City.

During the 70s the expansion touched for the first time the Asian
continent with the establishment of a company of the Group in Israel.
Nowadays, following the constant growth and demand of the Chinese market,
for the first time in its history the Francesco Parisi has planted its roots
in the Far East with the opening of the Hong Kong Branch (2004).

The Company is controlled and managed from the origin
by the Parisi family - now the eighth generation in business.
400 employees in 6 countries, a world-wide network of agents
and correspondents, over 100.000 sqm of covered warehouses for
the storage and distribution of goods can only briefly describe
the size of the Group.
The main feature of the Francesco Parisi Group is the
tailor-made solution for every possible logistic requirement
of its customers in the supply chain
